My Wonderful family and friends,

I truly appreciate everything that all of you have done to try and support me: and I cannot begin to thank you all for the messages of love and courage that helped me through the hard times.

I love you ALL for it!!

However, it is All of You who need the courage and acceptance that I’m gone from sight, but hopefully not from mind.

I was at peace (most of the time) during the last few months, and my only concern was for my wonderful son, James.

There are no words that can express my love for him, and I know that he will continue to grow into the man that his family and friends will be proud of.

Please remember me as someone who has taken too many jumps without looking, and suffering the consequences afterwards; but mostly getting on with life.

I wasn’t always easy to get on with, and could be a biting bitch.

I have tried to learn to be more tolerant, much less judgemental, more positive, more forgiving, and, a better mother.

I learnt that you cannot change the past, but you have a choice to make today happy and look forward to tomorrow with anticipation of all good things to happen.

I chose to enjoy life with loved ones, with good humour, chocolate, laughter and good memories

I’ve gone on now, but that is good enough for me!!

My little bro’, Luis, has given me this lovely website so that you, my family and friends, can help James get to know me through your eyes.

However, I’m afraid that so many of you emailed and messaged me that there were far too many messages for me to accumulate for Luis! So it would be a great help if you could forward all of your messages to him at the email address below so that he can complete this gift from him to me, and, I hope that James will get to know me a little better because of you.

Luis needs pictures (old and new) of us, and, a story explaining the pictures would be even better.

You can email Luis at bro@helenasteele.com

He promises that he will get every picture (sadly, no X-Rated ones please) and story into the website as they are given to him, so please be patient if your pictures and stories are not yet on the website.

It was an honour being able to call you my friends, I love you all!!

See You Later Alligator!!!
